The aims of this activity were for Cubs to be able to –

  • Use a street directory to find their way in an Urban environment (map reading)
  • Make choices about where they need to go (journey planning)
  • Visit a series of locations to discover information (local history/ knowledge)
  • Demonstrate correct behaviour on public roads (road safety)
  • Have an opportunity to introduce potential new members to scouting
  • Optional – use GPS units to check position or provide directions (navigation skills)
